Indonesia’s exports to several major trading partners increased in January 2026 compared to the same month last year.
The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) noted that while Indonesian exports rose 3.39% year-on-year in January 2026 to US$22.16 billion, exports to the United States, China, and India also experienced rapid growth.
“Exports to these three countries accounted for a significant 43.77% share of Indonesia’s total non-oil and gas exports in January 2026,” said Ateng Hartono, Deputy for Distribution and Services Statistics at the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) during a press conference at the BPS Headquarters.
The Statistics Indonesia (BPS) recorded that Indonesia’s largest export value was still to China in January 2026, reaching US$5.27 billion, up from US$4.57 billion recorded in January 2025.
Indonesia’s main export commodities to China included nickel and its products, which reached US$983.16 million, a 61.72% year-on-year increase. This was followed by iron and steel at US$1.32 billion, a 10.08% decrease, and mineral fuels at US$808.69 million, a 6.66% decrease.
The United States (US) ranked second, with Indonesia’s total export value to that country reaching US$2.51 billion, up from US$2.34 billion recorded in January 2025.
Commodities Indonesia exports to the US include machinery and electrical equipment worth US$465.33 million, a 33.04% increase; footwear worth US$236.04 million, a 15.83% increase; and clothing and accessories (knitted) worth US$207.71 billion, a 4.87% decrease.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s exports to India increased to US$1.52 billion, up from US$1.23 billion in January 2025.
Indonesia’s primary exports to India include mineral fuels (US$442.04 billion, a decrease of 7.84%), animal and vegetable fats and oils (US$373.91 billion, a decrease of 378.08%), and iron and steel (US$136.24 billion, an increase of US$87.49 billion).
Beyond Indonesia’s three main export destinations: China (24.80%), the US (11.82%), and India (7.15%), other major export destinations include ASEAN (19.72%), the European Union (6.75%), and others (29.76%).
